Joy Schoffler has spent her career launching high performing startups—helping them raise capital and achieve growth through creative publicity strategies. She additionally teaches at a number of organizations including Startup America, Execsense and many other crowdfunding specific industry sites. An avid speaker and writer, Joy has spoken at events throughout the country on crowdfunding, is currently writing: “How to Stand Out From the Crowd While Crowdfunding”. She also regularly writes for several outlets including Entrepreneur.com, MO.com, and The Glass Heel in addition to being featured in Inc. Magazine, Forbes and several other industry blogs.
As Principal of Leverage PR, Joy works with the leaders of the crowdfunding industry, investment firms, and high potential startups. Past and present clients include; Crowdfund Capital Advisors, EarlyShares, IPO Village, Growthink, and Social Dynamx in addition to a host of other high profile Inc. award winning firms. Her and her team secured thousands of high profile media placements over the years, which have helped her clients achieve extraordinary business results. She has helped early-stage companies raise more than $20 million, make the Inc. 500 list, secure Fortune 500 accounts, and experience tremendous growth all through creative publicity and marketing strategies.
Joy’s number one passion in life is to help entrepreneurs and businesses succeed. Knowing what a large impact PR can make on businesses she developed the first of its kind publicity platform for crowdfunding and growth phase companies—“Enhance My Visibility” which will be available in early 2013. EMV will allow companies to leverage the power of publicity to increase investor dollars, close new accounts, and grow their businesses.
Outside of the private sector, Joy served as a Finance and Public Affairs Officer in the US Army Reserves and Guard. She sits on the board for Athletes for Change, an organization of NFL players dedicated to helping foster kids, and on the PR committee for the Crowdfunding Professional Association (CfPA), helping create messaging and form strategic relationships that will enhance CfPA's overall mission.
