What is the CfPA?

The Crowdfunding Professional Association (CfPA) is a 501 (c)(6) nonprofit trade organization that was established shortly after the signing of the Jumpstart Our Business Startup Act (“JOBS Act”) on April 5, 2012. The CfPA is dedicated to representing the Crowdfunding industry and supporting the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) during the rule making period while providing the industry with education, a professional network and the tools necessary to cultivate and balance a healthy ecosystem that will accelerate capital formation and ensure investor protection whenever possible.

The CfPA established Committees that are considered the pillars of the organization. Each year our Committees plan and sponsor educational and social events, produce newsletters, fund raise, and attract new members to the organization. Committee participation is available only to CfPA members. Joining a committee is easy once you become a member, committees generally meet 2 times a month, or more often as needed and decided by the executive committee chairs/co-chairs. Individual committee members take responsibility for planning and sponsoring events.

Get involved and develop your skills and network by volunteering on CfPA committees. The following committees are looking for your commitment and engagement for 2014-2105: Membership Committee, Events Committee, Government Relations/Regulations Committee, Education Committee, Sponsorship Committee, and Public Relations Committee. After registering as a Member of the CfPA, email info@CfPA.org and let us know which committee you are interested in joining.  The responsible Committee chair will contact you with additional information.
